“FIRST
ONE OUT”
PRESTIGE VASE
LIMITED EDITION OF 10
RETAIL PRICE £1100
It is almost ten years since Stephen Smith’s
first “Robins” vase for Moorcroft Enamels
took the fine art world by storm, as it was painted
on the inside as well as the outside.
Stephen has revisited the theme of Robins for his
first prestige design on a new 3 inch china vase.
This stunning piece of freehand painted china demonstrates
just how much the “inside-outside” technique,
which was first developed by Stephen, has moved
on in the intervening years.
“First
One Out” is vastly more complex in concept
and design than “Robins”, and depicts
the moment when four youngsters prepare to leave
the nest for the first time. On the inside of the
vase, three gorgeously spotted chicks think about
leaving the safety of the nest. On the outside,
the most adventurous fledgling is the “first
one out” and begs for food from its parents.
At
every level, this vase will enthral and captivate
the viewer - from the overall finish, shape and
feel in the hand, through the finest details of
plumage on six birds in different poses, to the
subtle delicacy of the blossom and leaves, this
piece exudes the highest quality and brings a fresh
interpretation to a popular subject.
At
a
retail price of £1100, this piece represents
incredible value in today's market place and has
been eagerly awaited by Stephen’s large following
of collectors worldwide.
