The lighted cottage and evening sky set the scene for the early evening emergence of two badgers from their set. Closer inspection reveals that they are watched over by a hovering Barn Owl. Tree bark, fungi, lichens and ferns provide the kind of background at which Terry excels.

The name of the piece is based on an area of woodland close to the shores of Lake Windermere, where Badgers have been well studied.
