TERRY HALLORAN
SPRING
2002 MOORCROFT ENAMELS
PRESTIGE PIECE

Don't confuse this prestige piece with a standard Moorcroft Enamels 4 vase. This vase is five and a half inches tall and was used to create prestige pieces for sale at the annual Worcester Open Day.

Terry has designed a wonderful scene that captures the essence of spring. Everyone's favourite garden birds cover the surface of this enamel in quantity, all set against a background of spring flowers such as crocus and daffodils.

If the report in the Moorcroft Collector's Club magazine is to be believed, one very lucky collector purchased this vase for £1100! The going rate for a piece of this size now appears to be around £3500 (see Elliot Hall 2007 catalogue) but personally I think the quality of Terry's vase is vastly superior, capturing atmosphere, movement, subtlety and proportion to perfection.
