- Terry
has now released his first design on the new circular
box (SH6). This has been made exclusively for Terry
and Steve and is a beautiful shape. The subject is
Winter Robins. Surprisingly this is the first time
Terry has used this subject either on Moorcroft Enamels
or on china and what a brilliant job he has done.
Details are now on his SALES
PAGE...... where you will find a link to further
images and information.

from the sale of these pieces will be donated to UK
wildlife conservation....please see my other website

- Now
for news of Terry. He has had a couple of small operations
which have set his work plans back somewhat. I am
pleased to report that everything has gone well and
he is beginning to get back to normal. He is well
on the way to completing a "hound" piece
on the new circular box, has one or two commission
pieces on the go and is busy sketching a design for
a new vase - Badgers and/or owls may feature here.

NEWS
OF NEW RELEASES (7th January 2010)
- Steve
has been working hard over the last few weeks on three
new designs for 2010 and he is now approaching the
finishing stages on the first piece of each edition.
Full details will be available soon, but for the moment
I can give you the subjects and shapes. First, there
will be a Meerkat vase, painted outside only, which
Steve has wanted to do for some time as a completely
different type of subject. Having mentioned this subject
to one or two people we've found that it could well
be popular. Then there will be two inside-outside
pieces - one of Kingfishers and one of Avocets. Steve's
Kingfisher box sold out very quickly and is much sought
after, so he wanted to revisit the subject, but in
a different way. The Avocet is a striking bird and
symbol of the RSPB. Again, this is one Steve has been
thinking about for some time and, after initial difficulties
getting the design for the outside to his liking,
Steve is really delighted with the way it has turned
out and thinks it looks the very striking piece he
had hoped to create. Clearly there will be some months
work to paint these three editions, so pieces will
be arriving at retailers over a period of time.
NEWS
ITEM (8th December 2009)
- Simon
King of BBC wildlife fame has chosen Steve's Woodpecker
vase as December's prize in the competition on his
website. If you would like to enter - a simple question
needs answering based on the website contest - details
at www.simonkingwildlife.com
NEWS
ITEMS (1st AUGUST 2009)
- Steve
and Terry are now well on the way to having their
own special circular box - the final plaster version
is complete (see picture) and
work is under way to make the moulds. When they started
their own businesses they used a standard circular
box which, although of high quality, was not ideal
for their unique "inside-outside" technique.
The new box, very cleverly, will have a slightly curved
interior so that designs can flow more easily round
the corners, avoiding the 90' bend on the standard
box. The gold band at the base will balance nicely
with that on the lid.
- Steve
has been invited by Simon King to provide a monthly
prize for his website. Well known to viewers of BBC
wildlife programmes like Spring Watch, Simon is a
superb wildlife film-maker and runs his own website
with news of his activities, photos and merchandise
for sale. The competition will not be until later
this year or early next year but I will post details
here when I know more. A free entry would give you
the chance to win a unique one-off piece.
- I
have only one NUMBER 1 (Terry's "Watching and
Waiting") still for sale with proceeds going
to a conservation charity. I will also have Steve's
Puffins jar for sale soon, although that will be No.
2/10. The rest have sold following advertising in
the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Magazine...CLICK

NEWS
ITEMS (20th MAY 2009)
- Steve
and Terry recently attended a very successful fair
at Builth Wells with Nick Garner and demonstrated
their painting. They were
pleased to meet old friends and new and had two very
successful days, with much interest being shown in
their pieces and orders placed. Even after nearly
three years some collectors of Moorcroft Enamels are
delighted to find that Steve and Terry are still painting,
when they thought or had been told they had retired!!
Nick does stirling work touring the country and providing
an opportunity for the pieces to be examined in the
hand - check out his website for details of where
he will be going in the coming months.
- Steve
and Terry have recently been busy designing their
next shapes so that Mark can get on with producing
and testing the moulds. In the pipeline is a new vase
for outside only painting (see photo of plaster model
- it's in the middle between the lidded vase and the
prestige vase just to give an idea of size). They
have also designed a new circular box which is going
to be quite special and unique. Mark has also been
busy preparing some very thin (almost paper thin),
very small plaques for which Steve and Terry have
some quite ambitious plans for the future.
- Steve
is working hard to paint the Puffins edition so that
retailers can have their stock over the next few weeks
- most seem to be sold though even before they've
received them, so unfortunately I don't think there
are any that can be viewed just at the moment.
- Terry
is close to finishing his first design on the lidded
jar which will have an autumn theme and feature birds.
Terry was delighted with his Grey Wagtail vase and
was keen to paint birds again as most of his designs
on china to date have been mammals. Watch this page
for details and images in the next few weeks. No.
1 will be available through this website, raising
money for conservation.

- such was the confidence of retailers that all 10 of

SNIPPETS (14th MARCH 2009)
- The
April edition of Collect It magazine, just out, has
a very interesting article about Steve and Terry's
work, although the photos are
a little dark. It covers the progress they have made
in the last two years and the popularity of their
work (about 95% of the production in 2008 has already
been sold!).
- Steve
is close to finishing the first design on the new
lidded vase or ginger jar (see right). It will be
painted inside and outside. He has chosen PUFFINS
as his subject - watch this space for further details.
- At
the end of March and early April two adverts will
be appearing in Wildlife magazines offering several
of Steve and Terry's pieces, including some numbered
1. The magazines have a joint circulation of almost
half a million so we anticipate some interest. In
future, Steve and Terry will allocate number 1 of
each edition to be sold to raise money for wildlife
conservation.
Details of pieces for sale for this purpose can be
found at:

NEW
RELEASE - TERRY HALLORAN (1st JANUARY 2009)
"SUMMER
WAGTAIL " - L/E of 10 - PRICE £450
NEW BUD VASE SHAPE SH3
Terry
has now completed the first design on the new bud vase
(SH3). This vase is just over 10 cm tall and was designed
by Steve and Terry to sit alongside and complement the
SH2 vase. Like their other china, it is hand made for
them by a local craftsman of great skill and is a beautiful
piece in its own right, even before painting.
Terry's design, of a Grey Wagtail and Water Lilies,
recreates a summer scene beside a pool. The design is
beautifully balanced and really makes you feel that
you are enjoying those sultry days of mid-summer - the
perfect anti-dote to our current cold winter weather.

COLLECTORS'
CLUB SHOW - NOV. 22/23 2008 - PETERBOROUGH
Steve
and Terry spent two enjoyable days demonstrating at
the show. Visitors were fascinated to see the inside-outside
technique in action and many expressed their amazement
that the inside of a vase could be painted in this way.
One visitor to the stand was none other than Eric Knowles,
the well-known antiques expert and leading authority
on ceramics. Eric was so impressed with the pieces he
saw that he kept returning, each time bringing with
him another colleague or expert to make sure they had
seen Steve and Terry's work. With an endorsement like
this, these pieces are surely destined to be the antiques
of the future! Ever obliging, Eric readily agreed to
be photographed holding one of Steve's vases and with
Steve's wife and son (see photos left, below and on
the biography page).
The
vase Eric is holding is a piece Steve is currently painting
as an exclusive for Church's China of Northampton. In
a limited edition of 10, "Safely Home" features
the popular subject of Blue Tits. The title of the piece
stems from the scene Steve has cleverly designed for
the inside - it shows the view from the inside of a
nest in a tree hole, with one adult sitting on eggs
as the other is seen returning through the entrance
hole, with the outside world beyond. Contact Stephen
Church at Church's China (01604
627031) if you would like further details
or to order this vase.
